SNOW!!!
Snow in April?? Who knew!! We hope you are safe in warm, wherever you are, while Asheville is thawing out slowly but surely to a cloudy sky. A one hour drive took me four yesterday, and I returned home to a power outage which lasted the night...some 31,000 or so folks in Buncombe County were sharing the experience. There's nothing like loosing your power to appreciate it when it comes back to you - metaphorically and literally.
Peace, Love, and Vegtable Rights!!!!

or you can check out the older yet somehow active Knights templar
or even possibly check out this site, a secret society, thousands of years old, combining martial arts, magic and service to others Temple of the Seven Spheres

"Happy Trails"
Well, this is it, the last post until at least Friday of next week once I've decompressed and reacclimated to society after a week in Haiti. I don't know what to expect, what my life will really be like when there, and exactly who it is that will be returning. I have much to do before I actually leave and so it's best I hang up the blogging hat and turn the site over to my trusted guest hosts and companeros, Spiralout, Kali and Wo. Neither of them have blogged before, so be gentle with them and enjoy their content.
I'm a little nervous, for sure, and feeling some trepidation. This is natural, of course, and good, for a little fear can be quite constructive in gaining perspective and engaging, shaping and cultivating the soul. But I'm also hopeful, in my usual quixotic sort of way. One could easily say that I'm chasing windmills, and maybe I am, but at the same time I'll be simply present, simply giving love, simply bearing witness to a nation that is suffering yet proud.
One of my most beautiful memories is the day that Joshua and I chased rainbows in Lava Tubes, Oregon, with a wild lady that took us under her glittery wing. On that crazy June day seven years ago we may not have come away with solid results, but with a dream filled with teary laughter, beauty, and hope. I hope that in this southerly pilgrimage, I'll come back with something of the same, something that is not measured as an accomplishment, but rather a moment when I ceased being myself and connected with the thing that makes me myself, and you yourself, and the rainbow the awesome covenant in color it is.
That's it for now. Hasta la vista, happy trails, and keep the home fires warm.
Love,
jaybird

"Impending Duties"
I've been out of posting range for all day. But with impending duties packing, organizing, and slipping out of the country, there won't be much posting by me, while my special guest co-hosts will be providing daily content (thanks friends, I love you guys). Tomorrow or Tuesday I'll be signing off until the return, thought I expect that Haiti will be incredibly moving that I won't be quite the same as I left. Right now I'm really tired and feeling queasy.
